Grey Eagle Presents$Rev. Dawn Casseday |
At a very young age, Dawn can remember contemplating a situation and “just knowing” the outcome. Born to a single mother with five children and cared for by her siblings, the reality of life set in very quickly. When Dawn’s birthmother came to the realization that she simply could not rear her children alone, she placed Dawn up for adoption at 18 months of age.Her newly adopted parents adopted her brother as well. They took the children in and swiftly baptized them into their faith, Catholicism. As a result, the children were raised Catholics and were enrolled in a Catholic school. This, of course, has played a very important role in Dawn’s Spiritual journey.
Dawn enjoyed having very close ties with her adoptive father, but the relationship with her adoptive mother was riddled with abuse. The passing of her adoptive father sent Dawn into an emotional spiral and many bad choices were made.
Pregnant at 17 and wading through two short-term marriages, Dawn found herself emerging as a single mother of two. Struggling to survive, working to make ends meet and at the same time searching for “something more”, her quest took her to work with the Tarot.
Her deep roots of Spirit emerged slowly but continued to strengthen. She started to put many pieces of the puzzle of her life together and little by little, gained knowledge that helped her to be a better mother. As she raised her children on her own, she became stronger while continuing to unfold her Spirituality and her many gifts.
Dawn joined her long time love, Roscoe, in marriage. These were the best years of her life and she forever will be indebted to him for the many lessons he taught her. Many deep and profound Spiritual lessons came her way via this wonderful soul, which she will always cherish. At Roscoe's passing into Spirit, Dawn was devastated. It created a void that to this day sometimes still seems insurmountable.
After Roscoe’s death came, the passing of Alice, her best friend, and Jeff, her confidant, followed. This series of events made Dawn more determined to understand so she dove into the study of Spirit. She began to take classes, learning and connecting with Spirit at a much deeper level until she emerged triumphant.
Many close friends and family have passed around Dawn and with each passing, her healing awareness has become stronger and her Spiritual beliefs have grown. The deeper the pain of sorrow, the more Dawn has connected with her salvation, her own Spirit energies.
Much later in life, at a luncheon with her birth mother, Dawn was faced with yet another realization. She heard from her birth mother that she had a “near death experience” due to being born premature. This was indeed welcome news as well as enlightening information. Maybe this happened so that she can work with much deeper meaning as well as helping others fine a solution to their quest in Spirit. Perhaps this is the reason why she can connect to the Spirit world with such ease.
Dawn has always had a deep love for Michael, the Archangel, but had forgotten that she had been inspired at an early age to write poems to him. After many years, something she had forgotten existed re-emerged into her life. Her sister, Linda, had kept the poems that she had written and handed the notebook to her. As she read the poetry, Dawn realized it was those poems that were done for her angels and guides that form the essence of her work today.
Dawn continues to grow and learn in Spirit. As a person, she feels very fortunate to have come from humble beginnings. She can see that each one of those steps has brought her to the place she is at today and without a doubt, she is much better for all her experiences.
